I began my journey into Yoga in 2004 at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in London. An immediate resonance with the teachings took me to Kerala, South India, for further practice. The deep connection with this tradition helped my personal practice to evolve very quickly and in 2005 I took the International Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course (TTC).
I devoted the 6 years of my life as a voluntary resident staff at the Sivananda Yoga Center in London. Guided by Swamis (monks), this experience demanded a disciplined yogic lifestyle where a daily spiritual practice consisting of Asanas, Pranayama, mantra chanting , kirtan, yogic diet and all aspects of yoga was required. During this time, through selfless service (karma yoga), I taught many students from around the world from beginners to teachers’ level.
I have a great enthusiasm for Yoga anatomy, for a few years I have been studying in-depth anatomy and physiology. Since 2010, I taught intensive one week residential courses in Yoga Anatomy as well as workshops on the same subject at the Sivananda Yoga Center in London. With this invaluable experience, I aim to continue sharing the teachings of Yoga in a pure and traditional way.
‘He (Madhava) teaches with dynamism, precision and care. His classes are meticulously prepared, intelligently executed and engaging.’ …Swami Krishnadevananda, Director, SYVC London
